Bridging the Digital Divide for Hausa Speaking Individuals — Your Partnership Can Change Lives

In today's age, talent is everywhere — but opportunity is not. Everyday, bright and capable Hausa people are shut out of jobs, services, and growth simply because they cannot use a computer. It’s not that they aren’t willing to learn; it’s that most training is in English, far from their reality, and out of financial reach.

We are changing that.

For the next 20 months, our Hausa-Language Computer Literacy Program will take 2,500 people — youth, children, workers, even elders — and give them the power to navigate the digital world with confidence. Every lesson will be in Hausa, every example rooted in their daily lives, every skill directly useful.

They will learn how to write documents, manage finances in Excel, create presentations, find and apply for jobs online, use email securely, promote a small business on social media, and access essential government services — all in their own language.

This isn’t just training. It’s transformation.

When a mother learns to create her own invoices instead of relying on others, she gains independence.
When a farmer discovers how to sell his produce online, he gains a bigger market.
When a student applies for a scholarship on the internet for the first time, she changes her future.

Our Solution

We will train 2,500 participants over 20 months in practical, everyday computer skills—all taught in Hausa for maximum understanding. The training will be delivered virtually, with a combination of live classes, recorded lessons, assignments, and interactive Q&A sessions.

Key skills participants will learn:

• Understanding a computer: hardware, software, and operating systems

• Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

• Internet navigation, email use, and online safety

• Creating documents, flyers, CVs, and presentations

• Using Google Docs, Drive, and other essential cloud tools

• Social media for business and marketing

• Applying for jobs and accessing government services online

• Protecting digital identity and avoiding online scams

Each participant will receive:

• Live and recorded classes via Telegram & Google Classroom

• Free training materials and guides in Hausa

• Access to trainers for mentorship and Q&A

• Certification upon completion

• Academy membership for continued learning

• A chance for the best students to work with our academy

Impact Beyond the Classroom

This program will create a multiplier effect: as each participant applies their skills in their workplace, school, or business, they will indirectly transfer knowledge to others. Combined with free, downloadable Hausa-language guides, the impact will reach far beyond the initial 2,500 students.

We are requesting ₦30,000,000 (Thirty Million Naira) ($20,000) to launch, execute, and sustain our Digital Literacy Program for 2,500 Hausa-speaking non-tech and tech individuals, split across 5 cohorts of 500 participants each.

Over 20 months, we will train participants virtually in Hausa language, provide free learning materials, and equip them with practical computer skills they can apply in business, education, and everyday life.

This funding will cover:

1. Office renovation + infrastructure setup

2. Training execution for 2,500 students

3. Creation & publishing of Hausa digital literacy materials
