My Theory

I then get to make up the theory I named "LearnwithAtajandRajah" (I'll explain later). We the Native Hausa Speakers love tech and want to learn much on it, leverage on specific tech skills for a living and more. But we get to skip the most important and fundamental part of it, which is Introduction to Computers, Getting Familiar with the Operating System (Windows), Introduction to Typing and Text Editing, Internet and Web Basics, Using Email and Online Communication, Introduction to Social Media (Safe Use), Working with Microsoft Office (Basic Use), Mobile Digital Skills, Digital Safety and Cyber Hygiene, Everyday Digital Applications and many more. Which I always teach first to anyone who want to learn a particular skill in tech before anything (its serves as a foundation for anyone), but I still fail to make a lot of impact and make much difference, because I only teach people who come to me and that's all!

But what if, I simplify this by reaching out a lot of audience (Online), publish tech guides in our Native Language, because we face difficulties sometimes in understanding the tech language (in English) as it, not because we lack comprehension of English, but it will be better learned using ones mother tongue and we also fail to have online tech hausa native mentors that do such, even offline.

So we created the "LearnwithAtajandRajah" movement, more like an Academy, under our software company last month, with the aim to launch an all inclusive, massive online mission to eradicate digital illiteracy across all age groups, to Native Hausa Speakers or anyone who speak the language, with main focus on Computer Navigation, Apprenticeship and all what one need (both tech and non-tech individuals) to use a computer on a daily basis without needing anyone for it.

We plan to publish materials (Like Hands on Practical Guide of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint in Hausa etc), guides, cheatsheets and many more through the academy website for everyone to have access, monitor all social media handles and teach using content creation.  This training is set to train 2,500 people virtually using 5 Cohorts, making 500 people per each Cohort, with a duration of 3 months per each Cohort, proper training materials translated in Hausa, and training conducted in Hausa as well. This training is for everyone weather tech minded or not, as we see it as a basic necessity for everyone to learn in order to eradicate digital illiteracy, and have the right to digital literacy. This will give a better foundation to anyone who is interested in learning a skill in tech, and anyone who isn't interested in tech but using a computer for basic operations.

In addition, this academy plan to be birthed with this training, as we plan to carryout more in the future like training Hausa Natives in specific skills e.g learning python language with all the python materials and lectures delivered in Hausa.  As we plan to simplify, translate, and teach most skills in Hausa, we have a lot of people to help who don't know where to start or who to learn from. We plan to start, by offering this training, to build communities, have a strong online presence, be known, work with our best trainees after each cohort and tech skilled individuals to continue in our journey.
